Artist's statement

"In my work I try to move away from the idea of woven cloth as a flat fabric plane toward something more expressive of the textures and contours of the natural and built environments. My interest in playing with three-dimensional elements creates potential for movement and depth, pushing the boundaries of textile design for weave while keeping within the technical limitations of woven cloth." -- Maya Grinberg
