According to new research, 90% of Australian consumers prefer ethical and sustainable products, and 85% want more transparency from retailers and brands about product sustainability^. Why Sustainability in Textiles Matters
Sustainable practices in textiles aim to minimize environmental impacts by promoting the use of eco-friendly materials, reducing water and energy consumption, and managing waste effectively. Consumers are increasingly opting for brands that demonstrate environmental responsibility, pushing companies to rethink our materials and manufacturing processes.
As a socially responsible global company, we understand the importance of the preservation of our shared environments. At Warwick, we have implemented industry best practices to ensure we are leading the way for the textile industry. We aim to continue to lead the way in both product and service, while being conscious of our environmental and social impact.

The Encore Endorsement
Encore fabrics have embraced this shift towards sustainability by focusing on the development of eco-friendly textiles that do not compromise on functionality or quality. A significant step in their sustainable journey is the use of at least 50% recycled yarn in Encore fabrics, with many products featuring even higher percentages - giving them the Encore endorsement.
The Source of Encore's Recycled Materials
One of the core aspects of our sustainability practice is its source of raw materials for our Encore range. We works closely with recycled polyester yarn suppliers who gather their materials from both post-consumer waste and post-industry yarn waste. Additionally, Encore’s recycled wool initiatives repurpose wool from fashion garments and other woollen textiles, effectively diverting substantial waste from landfills and oceans.
Certifications and Traceability
Ensuring the sustainability of their products, all of Encore’s recycled yarns are certified sustainable and completely traceable. This transparency is vital for consumers who are increasingly meticulous about the lifecycle of the products they purchase. By providing a traceable supply chain, Encore reinforces consumer trust and validates its commitment to sustainable practices.
For consumers and businesses looking to make responsible choices, Encore offers a perfect blend of quality, performance, and reduced environmental impact. Our current Encore product offering includes a variety of textures which each address different environmental concerns. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach for sustainable textiles, and so it is most important to purchase quality fabric that will withstand the tests of everyday life.
