WarGuard also features a more environmentally considered formulation. The water-based, solvent-free treatment is formulated without fluorochemicals, including PFOA and PFOS.

Venting is required when using Canyon for lounge seats and cushions to allow adequate airflow.

Its performance is further supported by testing for pilling resistance, seam slippage, colourfastness and flammability, providing specifiers with technical information to assist in selection.

Tested for Chemical Safety and Indoor Air Quality

Alongside its aesthetic and performance qualities, Canyon has been developed with consideration for material chemistry and indoor air quality, two increasingly important factors in residential and commercial interior specification.

Independently tested by AWTA Product Testing (Report No. 26-002604), Canyon offers two key environmental credentials.

100% PFAS-Free Chemistry

Canyon is manufactured without intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly known as ‘forever chemicals’.

Independent testing in accordance with ISO 23702-1:2023 found all 34 tested PFAS compound groups, including PFOA and PFOS, to be below detectable levels.

This provides specifiers with supporting evidence when selecting materials for projects with chemical restrictions or sustainability requirements.

Low-VOC Emissions

Indoor air quality is an important consideration when specifying materials for enclosed environments.

Canyon features a specially developed polymer face coating designed to limit the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into interior spaces.

Independent emissions testing recorded formaldehyde and benzene at levels below the laboratory's detection limits, supporting Canyon’s low-VOC positioning.

These results offer valuable information for architects, interior designers and commercial specifiers seeking furnishings and interior finishes with documented indoor emissions performance.

Canyons’ independently tested chemical and emissions credentials can assist project teams evaluating materials against sustainability frameworks, including Green Star, LEED and WELL Building Standard.
